Sony car stereo wiring
Tips for Sony Car Stereo and Speaker Installation
If you have a Sony car stereo and you don't know how to install it we are here for you to help and tell you what
to do. First of all you should keep in mind that installing a car stereo isn't an easy task and not everybody can
do it. So you need to be patient and try your best to reach your goal. First of all note that if you don't have any
basic electronics or mechanical skills you will not be able to do it and the best way for you to have your car
stereo installed is just to turn to such shops that have this service and don't charge much.
The first thing you need to do before installing your Sony car stereo is to disconnect your vehicle's battery.
This is for your safety and you should do it by all means. If you look attentively at your vehicle's original
factory stereo you'll notice holes on the right and left side of the stereo. You need to insert a special tool into
those holes in order to release the clips that hold the radio in place. The name of this tool is DIN which you can
find at any car stereo shop or hardware store. Then you need to remove the radio and unplug all the connections.
After the stereo is removed now it is time for your Sony car stereo wiring which is not, of course, possible
without Sony car stereo wiring diagram. Together with your stereo you'll find also Sony car stereo wiring harness.
In your radio manual you'll find the identifications of all the wires. Anyway, the easiest way for your Sony car
stereo wiring is to get a wring harness from the nearby car stereo shop and connect it to the old cable assemblies
of your vehicle. Kindly note that there is also a wiring diagram that comes with the harness and explains how each
wire is used and for what.
Before your Sony car stereo wiring you need to install a metal mounting sleeve that you'll find together with
your Sony car stereo. On this metal mounting sleeve there are many "V" shaped tabs which you need to push to fix
the sleeve in place. You can choose to push those tabs that will not hit any obstruction but will hold the sleeve
in the needed position. When the stereo is in its place, now it's time to install the speakers for your stereo.
Unlike stereo installation speaker installation is quite an easy process. Please, keep in mind that it will be much
easer for you to install your new speakers if they have the same size as your old ones. In order to install your
new speakers the first thing you need to do is to remove the old ones of course. For the front speakers you'll need
only to remove a few screws, pry off the old speakers and put the new ones. If they are the same size you will not
need any modifications. For the installment of the rear speakers you need just to lift metal grills and get to the
speakers. Now when you have your new Sony stereo car and speakers installed it's time to relax and enjoy the music
in your car.
